Healthy Low-Cal Fruit Smoothie

Early mornings under the pergola, after a hard workout or as a quick on-the-go substitute meal; my family and I frequently drink variations of this smoothie recipe. Sometimes I leave off the flax seed oil or the mango (not my favorite). I use a “Ninja” blender; my daughter likes her “Bullet.” Any blender, as long as the frozen ingredients are finely crushed will work. Anyway, not a pretty colored smoothie, LOL, but tasty and refreshing. Let me know what you think. Enjoy!




Healthy Lo-Cal Fruit Smoothie

 Crush in blender/juicer:


1 cup ice

1/2 cup frozen blueberries

1/2 cup frozen strawberries

1/4 cup frozen mango

crush, crush, crush


Whisk together in bowl:


 1 cup Greek non-fat vanilla yogurt

1 cup sparkling water (or tap)

1/2 cup pomegranate juice

1 scoop super greens powder (I use Trader Joe’s)

1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder (again, Trader Joe’s)

1 tsp cinnamon

1 TBSP flax seed oil (optional)

1 medium banana, peeled and broken-up

whisked & mixed & mushed


Add all ingredients to blender/juicer:

Blend ’til smoothie-like consistency.



Servings: 4 8-ounce servings

Calories: 168/per serving
