Scrap Happy: March Mug Rug

One of my daughter’s and I packed the wheelchair, her Nana/my Mom aka Joan 😀 and took a train to Washington, D.C. for the weekend. This weekend trip was specifically planned to fit Joan’s schedule and mobility. We visited the National Zoo, the National Gallery of Art and the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. We all had a blast. Especially, when a luncheon waiter asked, “Is Diet Pepsi okay?” Welllll . . .  you know how we answered . . .  *snicker*.

So, between catching up with life once we got back, I’m a bit late for Scrap Happy’s monthly deadline. But! I’ve uploaded on a most appropriate day! For March’s Scrap Happy project I gathered green scraps to make my mother a March/St. Patrick’s Day mug rug. Sewing a mug rug and St. Patrick’s Day provided an opportunity to try out this Celtic Knot block.

Scrap Happy is open to anyone using up scraps of anything – no new materials and is hosted monthly by Kate and Gun

    1. Thanks! Our mugs usually have something quippy on them. My fav is “She believed She could so She did!”

    1. Right? I don’t have many seasonal or holiday mug rugs. I think I feel a Scrap Happy moment coming on. 😀

    1. Thank you. I keep “pinteresting” blocks I want to try. A mug rug isn’t so intimidating to try out something new. The rip was great!
