Pulled out my Scrap Happy WIP ‘Roundabout.’ Made with 1-3″ wide scrappy strips and a fuchsia background fabric. Not sure – the background may disqualify this project. 😉 I must say, all those seams are rather bumpy. Hope it doesn’t interfere with the quilting part.

A lot of thunder and heat lightening yesterday. Worried about a power failure and my aging desktop. . . My ScrapHappy is a day late. Scrap Happy is open to anyone using up scraps of anything and is hosted monthly by Kate and Gun.

Have a good week! – – Joanne
I’d say this qualifies since the scraps are what gives this “bling” ^^
Thank you! I do love Alison Glass fabrics. They are so bright and colorful. I miserly hoarded these pieces; unable to toss the tiniest scrap. Intervention may be needed. 😉
We’ll pass this one! The scrappy part is the blocks you’ve made, how you put them together afterwards up to you, and I must say, it’s a very ‘happy’ finished effect! It’s rarely possible to have an entirely scrappy finished item, and it’s the reuse and creation of something new and beautiful that I’m trying to encourage.
This one does cause me to feel ‘happy’ when working on it. And I know it’s hard to sew a completely ‘scrap only’ quilt. However…. I think your scrap happy hexie quilt is amazing – all those little scraps! 😀
Completely scrap quilts can be very heavy and hard to quilt because of all the seams, so I think you’ve taken a pragmatic as well as ‘feel good’ decision here.
That’s so jazzy! The solid purple parts really show off the scrappy blocks–I love it!
Thank you. 🙂 Purple is not a favorite choice, but this particular fabric spoke to me.
The fuchsia really adds richness to the bright scraps in the blocks!
Thank you. I usually go lighter; so I purposely chose a strong color for the background. Haven’t chosen a backing fabric yet. But, in staying in theme, it’ll have to be bright! 😉
I love the variety of the blocks — scraps in, scraps outward facing! I look forward to seeing this one progress!
Thank you! I need to make time to sew (rejuvenate) and drag it back out.
