Her name was Miss Phoebe Darling and she gave us 13+ fantastically bouncy, bubbly years.
If you’ve ever met a Boston terrier, you know what I mean when I say she was an animated spitfire! She spent her early days playing tug-of-war, stealing borrowing her sister pup’s toys or bones and hiding them inside her crate, burrowing behind the sofa cushions to nap… In her elder years, she was a little slower, took more naps in the sun, cuddled more…
She slipped under my heart when I wasn’t paying attention. She was always emotionally there for me, always forgiving, always loyal. I miss her terribly.
Back to work this Monday. Due to a 4-6 inch sow-ice-snow combination, schools were closed all week. Sweats, TV binging, baked cookies and hot cocoa. Staying inside, trying to keep warm. I tackled another quilt project.
I’m starting to get the hang of these mathematical things.
But, I must admit, piecing the chevrons on a slant is not for the spatially impaired. This one beat me up. 😉 Please don’t look too closely!
Crazy weather these days. Phoebe Darling awoke, so Dylann absconded with the quilt 🙂
Phoebe Darling is such a little brat, but she’s MY little brat.
This tiny spitfire is always busy. Her day consists of chasing her brudder pup, Douley, stealing borrowing Miss Pearl’s toys and bones and hiding them in her crate and burrowing behind the sofa cushions to nap.
It can’t have been ten years ago that she wiggled her way into our hearts?!?
With the Townhouse Renovation complete we can focus on revamping our bedroom and replacing the family room carpet with hardwood flooring – Plan A. Ten years ago, we lightened up the room by replacing the sliding door with a wooden swing door and painting the paneled walls a buttery yellow. I dug around and found old images ( a little blurry).
Over the last ten years we have acquired many pets – the first being our very spoiled Miss Phoebe Darling. It is time to replace the carpet. 😉
